Stephen Youngblood Supports Gateway Center’s 14th Annual Human Clay Gala
ATLANTA — Business and civic leaders filled The Foundry at Puritan Mill on Thursday, September 17, for Gateway Center’s 14th Annual Human Clay gala, “Shaping Atlanta’s Future Together,” the nonprofit’s largest fundraising event of the year. Bloom Parham associate Stephen Youngblood, who serves on Gateway Center’s Board of Directors, supported this year’s gala as a Guardian-level sponsor alongside his wife, Natalia.
Human Clay marked Gateway Center’s 21st year of connecting people experiencing housing insecurity with the support they need to find a stable, permanent home. The gala’s name is drawn from a line in Honoré de Balzac’s The Novels of Balzac, which describes “a salient indefinable beauty into faces made of the commonest human clay.” Proceeds from the evening, including a silent auction and Gateway Center’s signature “Fund the Mission” initiative, support the organization’s case management, coordinated entry, behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, workforce development, and food service initiatives. Together, these programs serve thousands of individuals and families in Atlanta each year.
Atlanta Regional Commission CEO Anna Roach and Retaaza founder Kashi Sehgal served as the event’s co-chairs, and Emmy Award-winning journalist Condace Pressley emceed the evening. Gateway Center also presented its Franklin-Hardin Award, named for former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and Gateway Center Founder and Board Chairman Emeritus Jack Hardin, to Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens in recognition of his leadership on housing and his commitment to building a stronger Atlanta.
Bloom Parham attorneys Emily Molinie and Logan Berg joined Stephen at the gala as his guests, lending their support to the evening.
“Gateway Center’s work meets people where they are and gives them a real path to a stable home. It is an honor to serve on the board, and it means a great deal to have colleagues from the firm there to support the mission.”
