Client Receives All Attorneys’ Fees After Summary Judgment Win in Tax Appeal

Bloom Parham represents a developer constructing an apartment building in Metro Atlanta.  While the building itself was to be exempt from taxation during construction, the county insisted on including the building in its calculation of the fair market value of the subject property.  After the board of equalization agreed with the client, the county appealed the decision to superior court where Bloom Parham won summary judgment on the taxability of the building.  After a motion and hearing, the court awarded the client all the fees incurred as part of the county’s appeal.
