Bloom Parham Welcomes Kurt Kastorf as Partner

Bloom Parham is pleased to announce that veteran appellate and litigation attorney Kurt Kastorf has joined the firm as a partner. Kurt brings extensive experience in appellate advocacy and complex litigation, enhancing the firm’s ability to guide clients through every phase of high-stakes disputes—from trial through appeal.

Kurt joins Bloom Parham from his solo practice, Kastorf Law, where he built a national appellate practice and worked with many of the country’s leading Supreme Court and appellate advocates. He has worked on more than one hundred appeals, including cases before the United States Supreme Court, before every federal circuit court of appeals, and before state appellate courts including the Supreme Court of Georgia. Kastorf also frequently serves as an embedded trial lawyer in high stakes civil litigation, where he works within trial teams to develop legal strategy, craft dispositive motions, and preserve key issues for appellate review.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kurt to the firm,” said Simon Bloom. “Our lawyers are trial attorneys who regularly handle complex business and real estate disputes. Kurt’s deep appellate experience strengthens our ability to represent clients not only in the courtroom but also in the appellate courts. Just as importantly, his ability to work with trial teams early in a case will help ensure that we are positioning our clients for success at every stage of the litigation process.”

Before founding Kastorf Law, Kurt practiced at WilmerHale and King & Spalding and served as an Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice. Earlier in his career, he clerked for Chief Judge Ed Carnes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, where he gained significant experience analyzing complex appellate issues and federal litigation.

Kurt earned his law degree, with high honors, from Emory University School of Law, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Emory Law Journal.

“I am excited to join Bloom Parham,” Kastorf said. “The firm has built an outstanding reputation as one of Atlanta’s premier litigation boutiques, with a team of lawyers known for their trial skill and dedication to their clients. I look forward to working with the firm’s talented attorneys to help clients navigate complex litigation and to continue developing the firm’s appellate capabilities.”

Bloom Parham’s managing partner, Stephen Parham concluded, “Kurt strengthens our firm’s ability to deliver results-driven advocacy for our clients.  Kurt’s skill as an appellate advocate is second to none and is complemented by his extensive trial experience.  His addition further positions Bloom Parham as a best-in-class litigation firm.”
