Bloom Parham announces new Chief of Staff
Bloom Parham is pleased to announce that Joseph “Joe” Aluise has joined the firm as chief of staff. In this role, Joe will focus on leading the firm’s strategic planning initiative, business development, professional development of the firm’s attorneys, and attorney recruitment. Additionally, Joe will bring his formidable litigation skills and trial experience to bear in service of the firm’s clients. Joe’s considerable trial experience includes two years as an Assistant District Attorney in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and three years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, where he specialized in financial crimes. Joe has tried dozens of cases to verdict before juries and in bench trials.
Joe also has significant corporate legal experience, working for twelve years as an Assistant General Counsel with Entergy Corporation, a multi-state utility that provides electric and gas services to customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. While at Entergy, he managed an extensive team of outside attorneys and represented the company in commercial litigation, labor, and employment law matters. As counsel for Entergy’s nuclear energy unit, Joe represented it in matters including contract negotiations, litigation, employment disputes, internal investigations, union matters and actions before the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Most recently, Joe founded Crescent Heritage Properties, a residential real estate development company that develops high-end residential properties in the greater New Orleans area, including single family and multi-family properties.
Joe earned a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992, where he graduated with distinction and was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa. He then joined Teach For America and taught middle school history for two years in the Houston Independent School District. Joe went on to attend the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the managing board of the Journal of Law and Politics as Notes Editor and earned his J.D. in 1997, graduating as a member of the Order of the Coif. Following graduation, Joe clerked for United States District Judge Tucker L. Melançon in Lafayette, Louisiana.
