Covington Argues In Georgia Court of Appeals
Bloom Parham partner Troy Covington argued in the Georgia Court of Appeals in support of the firm’s summary judgment victory over premises liability claims. The firm represents a commercial property owner against claims brought by an individual shot in the client’s property’s parking lot. Surveillance video showed the individual punched his assailant prior to being shot. Bloom Parham successfully argued to the trial court that the individual’s voluntary decision to start an altercation barred his claims as a matter of law. The Court of Appeals will issue its decision in the case in the next several months.
