Marc A. Taylor
Partner
A proven leader and strategic counselor, Marc has spent his career helping businesses solve their most complex problems, and he has advocated for clients in hundreds of matters as trial counsel in federal and state courts throughout the country.
Marc counsels corporate leadership on the full spectrum of employment relationships, corporate strategy, litigation, and risk mitigation, helping his clients craft innovative solutions to their most pressing problems.
Prior to joining Bloom Parham, Marc co-founded Taylor English Duma LLP in 2005 and served as the firm’s Chairman. Under his leadership, the firm grew from four attorneys to approximately 180, becoming the fastest-growing law firm in Georgia and one of the fastest-growing in the country. During his tenure, the firm earned recognition from Chambers USA in five practice areas, was repeatedly named among the Best Law Firms by Best Lawyers, and became the Georgia member firm of GGI Global Alliance AG, one of the world’s leading alliances of accounting and law firms. The firm served clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startups to individuals. Marc’s entrepreneurial approach to law firm management — emphasizing high-quality legal services, cost efficiency, and alignment with clients’ business objectives — established a model that attracted top legal talent from across the country.
In his practice, Marc represents management in corporate leadership matters, litigation, risk mitigation, and labor and employment relationships. Marc handles matters for employers ranging from individual and class action discrimination lawsuits to state law defamation and tort claims. He has successfully represented employers in federal and state courts, as well as administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and various state agencies in more than 30 states.
Before founding his own firm, Marc served as in-house employment counsel at Medaphis Corporation (now McKesson Corporation), a company with more than 10,000 employees, from 1995 to 1997. In that role, he was responsible for investigating and handling all employment-related disputes. He developed and implemented nationwide employment law training programs and an alternative dispute resolution program that succeeded in reducing the company’s employment-related lawsuits by 75 percent in a two-year period. Prior to his in-house role, Marc practiced as a partner at an Atlanta-based full-service law firm from 1997 to 2005.
Marc has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer every year since 2007, a distinction awarded to the top five percent of attorneys in the state. He has also been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading practitioner in Labor and Employment. He is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences on topics involving a full range of law firm and legal department management, corporate strategy, and employment relationship issues.
Marc is committed to the Atlanta community and the legal profession. He serves on the Board of Directors of the College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law Foundation and has served on the Atlanta Bar Association Foundation Board since 2010.
