Joe Aluise joins Bloom Parham as Chief of Staff, primarily responsible for managing the Bloom Parham strategic plan that will assure the firm’s continued growth as a premier provider of litigation services resolving disputes in the fields of real estate, employment law, and complex business matters.

With experience as a prosecutor and trial lawyer, an in-house attorney for a large corporation, and a real estate developer himself, Joe has tried significant cases at both the state and federal level, and he brings a unique business perspective to the advancement of the firm.

During a period of evolution across many knowledge-based professions, Joe’s extensive legal and business experience will allow Bloom Parham to remain at the cutting edge of its practice areas, attracting top legal talent to the firm who understand client needs and the successful navigation of complex legal matters.

Joe graduated from the University of North Carolina, where he earned his B.A. in political science and economics, with distinction, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society.  After teaching middle school in Houston for two years as a Teach For America corps member, Joe earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia where he was inducted into the school’s prestigious Order of the Coif. He then served as law clerk for The Honorable Tucker Melancon, U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Louisiana.

Joe’s legal career has brought a wealth of experience in a diverse range of practice areas.  During his six years as an Assistant District Attorney for Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and an Assistant United States for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Joe tried over 60 jury trials and managed the investigation and prosecution of cases ranging from violent crimes to financial crimes and political corruption.

In his role as Assistant General Counsel for Entergy Corporation, Joe handled matters for the company before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  He also represented company’s nuclear power division.  In that role, Joe managed an extensive team of outside attorneys responsible for helping the company navigate several corporate restructurings, nuclear regulatory proceedings, and many employee-driven legal issues.  Joe also created and delivered training programs for the company’s management and executive teams focused on legal matters ranging from nuclear safety culture to regulatory compliance.

In 2016, Joe paused his legal career to found Crescent Heritage Properties, a New Orleans residential real estate development company that develops high-end single and multi-family residential properties in the Greater New Orleans area.  Joe is also a founding member of River Bend Partners, an angel investing group created in 2014 to help fund New Orleans-based start-up companies in industries including technology, health care and consumer services.

Joe has also been active in the New Orleans community for decades.  He served on the Board of Teach For America-New Orleans for twenty years, including 17 years as Board Chair.  He also has provided pro bono legal services to the New Orleans charter school community for the past twenty years, and he serves on the board of the Live Oak Wilderness Camp, which serves New Orleans children both during the summer and school year.

Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Joe now lives in New Orleans with his wife, Rhonda.  Their three daughters have all attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
