ANNUAL "PIG GIG"

Each year between 2005 to 2020, Simon hosted colleagues, family, and friends at his home to celebrate and raise money to support BGCMA programs. The Annual “Pig Gig” BBQ was known for its fabulous food, live music, and significant contribution to providing for BGCMA programs.

 

 

ATLANTA LEGAL AID

Since 1924, Atlanta Legal Aid Society has offered free civil legal aid for low income people across metro Atlanta. With five neighborhood offices, three offices in Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals, three county courthouse projects, a variety of self-help clinics, and countless community education programs, Legal Aid lawyers and volunteers reach tens of thousands of people annually. Every year, a staff of 75 attorneys and 1,200 volunteers represent over 20,000 cases. The Bloom Parham team supports Atlanta Legal Aid in their holiday and running events each year.

Run for Justice

Adam Nugent takes home the Gold winning 1st Place overall in the Atlanta Legal Aid Society’s Annual Run for Justice 5k event.

ATLANTA POLICE FOUNDATION

The Atlanta Police Foundation (APF) was established in 2003 to provide vital support to the Mayor, the Chief of Police and the Atlanta Police Department. The organization is based on a public-private partnership model that has proven to be highly effective in the prevention and reduction of crime in other major cities. Since its inception, the APF has worked to secure and leverage private resources to fund high priority projects designed to enhance the City of Atlanta’s ability to fight and prevent crime.

Simon Bloom is a member of the Atlanta Police Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF METRO ATLANTA

Simon devotes much of his and his family’s time to improving the life outcomes of the most disadvantaged children in Metro Atlanta. He is among the most committed and stalwart supporter, board member, donor and activists for children’s causes. He has worked for twenty years to support and lead the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA), serving in capacities ranging from volunteer to county board president, to executive committee member of Metro Atlanta Corporate board.  In 2012, the Boys & Girls Club named Simon its BGCMA Board Member of the Year, and we are proud to announce that in 2020 Simon will be inducted as Board Chair.

COUNCIL FOR QUALITY GROWTH

The Council for Quality Growth is a 33-year-old trade association that works every day to ensure the Metro Atlanta region’s regulatory environment supports quality growth and development. It brings together and advocates for those who work at the intersection of public policy and private investment, including developers, contractors, engineers, architects, planners, attorneys, and bankers. It is also often engaged by the public sector to advise on regulation that protects communities while continuing to encourage economic development.

GEORGIA LAWYERS FOR THE ARTS

Georgia Lawyers for the Arts (GLA) is a nonprofit organization that provides legal assistance and educational programming to artists and arts organizations. GLA offers access to educational seminars, an in-house resource library, and a network of over 1,000 volunteer and member attorneys to provide legal assistance to artists of all disciplines.

Each year, Bloom Parham supports the Georgia Lawyers for the Arts Annual Gala.

HOPE+ACCESS

Hope+Access was founded in 2017 by Simon Bloom, who is on a mission to truly break the cycle of poverty. Simon believes the best place to spearhead real change in a community is through its church. Hope + Access is available to each neighborhood community through their local Hope + Access Church Provider. Each Church Provider serves as a portal to bridge the gap between the abundance of existing resources and the families who need them.

OPEN HAND ATLANTA

Open Hand is one of the largest community-based comprehensive nutrition agencies in the country – preparing, packing, and delivering nearly 6,000 meals each day to thousands of our friends and neighbors in the Atlanta area living with nutrition-sensitive chronic disease, homebound seniors, and at-risk youth and families. Simon Bloom has served on the Open Hand Atlanta Board of Directors since 2016.
