Ryan T. Pumpian

Ryan Pumpian is a partner at Bloom Parham. In this role he provides counsel and litigation services to clients on matters involving intellectual property, trade dress, trademarks, copyrights, false advertising, claims of unfair competition and other business disputes.
Ryan provides strategic counsel to clients involved in complicated business disputes. Such matters often involve litigation and arbitration among investors in closely held companies or joint ventures regarding financial and governance disagreements. The substantive areas in which Ryan has developed legal expertise include fiduciary duty, unfair competition, operating agreements, fraud, franchising, construction defect and intellectual property (e.g., trademark, trade dress, copyright, and false advertising). He has litigated cases in federal and state courts all over the country, including in California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, Ryan attended The George Washington University Law School, where he served on the Law Review and worked in the school’s community clinical program. Widely considered the finest lawyer in his family (his father and cousin are retired, Ed.), Ryan spent his first two years after law school clerking for the Honorable Daniel T.K. Hurley on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Following his clerkship, Ryan moved to Atlanta and joined the law firm then known as Powell Goldstein Frazer & Murphy LLP, which later merged with international firm Bryan Cave LLP. He became a Partner in that firm’s intellectual property litigation group in 2007. Ryan joined Bloom Parham LLP in 2014. Ryan has been named to Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite and has been included on the Georgia Super Lawyers lit for seven years.
In addition to assisting his clients, Ryan is dedicated to supporting the sport of cycling, serving as President of North Georgia Cycling Association and as a Director of the East Point Velodrome Association. Ryan also enjoys riding and racing his bikes, and he is the 2018 Georgia State Road Race Masters (45-49) Champion.
